Not long ago there was a scandal on the Internet and TV about some cops hurting dogs near Mexico City, thankfully, not all Police Officers are bad to our four legged furry friends.
This week we had a nice surprise at the Humane Society of Cozumel, when a couple of cops brought in a mixed breed dog they found on the street and adopted. They were worried the dog was in pain and not eating, they asked permission to their Commander to bring the dog to the vet, and raised some money out of their own pockets.
Rocky was checked, and treatment was initiated, then, because of the police work schedule, the very busy day at the shelter and the need for image tests (xrays) Rocky was brought to the clinic 3 times during the day, by different officers, all concerned about the dog´s health.
Rocky had a fecal impactation, so after treatment, fluids, and lot's of get well wishes, Rocky is now good to go on his life with the cops :) they'll receive advice from the Humane Society to keep him in good shape.
No hace mucho hubo un escándalo en el Internet y la tv sobre unos policías lastimando perros cerca de la Ciudad de México, afortunadamente, non todos los oficiales de policía son malos con nuestros peludos amigos de cuatro patas.
Esta semana tuvimos una linda sorpresa en la Sociedad Humanitaria de Cozumel, cuando un par de policías trajeron un perro que encontraron en la calle y adoptaron. Estaban preocupados de que el perro estaba adolorido y no comía, le pidieron permiso a su comandante para llevarlo al veterinario y juntaron fondos entre sus compañeros.
Se revisó a Rocky y se inició el tratamiento, debido al horario y trabajo de los policías, al ocupado día en el refugio y a la necesidad de estudios de imagen (rayos x), Rocky, vino a la clínica 3 veces a lo largo del día, con distintos oficiales, todos preocupados de la salud del perro.
Rocky tuvo una impactación fecal, así que después del tratamiento, fluidos y muchos buenos deseos, Rocky está ahora listo para irse a su nueva vida con los policías :) ellos recibirán apoyo y consejos de la Sociedad Humanitaria para tenerlo en buena forma.
